Cylindrical paste transfers its own weight fully to the bottom of the electrode shell, unlike small blocks or egg-shaped paste. This helps form higher density and strength after baking. It also solves paste-hanging problems in DC furnaces, so cylindrical electrode paste is strongly recommended for DC furnaces.
